Northern Neck, VA -- The Northern Neck Foundation (NNF) officially announces its formal organization with the mission to "promote the preservation of Northern Neck cultural and historical icons through stewardship, leadership, and community engagement." The first project and catalyst for the formation - saving Northern Neck Ginger Ale (NNKGA) - A Proud Virginia Tradition Since 1926.

The Northern Neck Foundation will consist of five directors:

The NNF was launched as a result of overwhelming support of the iconic beverage's return evidenced by the 6,800+ members of the Save Northern Neck Facebook Group, founded in 2018 by Johnson. Prior to formally organizing, the NNF launched an online survey/petition to gather data on the favorability of the beverage's return. The survey has 1,100+ responses and representation from 6 countries and 23 states; with 81% of the respondents having ties to the Northern Neck region of Virginia. The majority of survey takers are advocating for NNKGA's return and for it to be produced/distributed locally. Survey results are available in the foundation's official Pro Forma. Readers are also encouraged to take the survey.

The Northern Neck Foundation is accepting applications to form the Save Northern Neck Ginger Ale Advisory Council. This unpaid volunteer opportunity will assist in guiding the Board of Directors in making decisions and provide a resource pool to further the mission. Candidates will be selected based on their experience, skills, resources, and community leadership. The meetings will be ad hoc but council members will be encouraged to participate in an online forum format. Applicants should familiarize themselves with the foundation's Pro Forma.
